How Do You Follow Up?

Have you ever lost a prospective client because of lack of follow up? Welcome to the club! We all have. Our goal, of course, is to make that the exception rather than the rule.

Here are some things that will help towards that goal:

Try to get an understanding of what their decision making process will be

  • What’s the next step?
  • When would they like you to follow up? (Then do that!)

Be sure you are taking to the decision maker(s)        

  • Is there someone else who will impact the final decision?
  • Try to meet or communicate with all the decision makers

Give them all the information they’ll need to choose you

  • Follow up any meeting or presentation with the key points in writing
  • Highlight their issues and how your product or service will solve them

Follow up may just be the most important part of getting new business. Do it right, do it well, and your business will grow.
