Do you sometimes feel so exhausted from running your business and from trying to bring in new customers that you feel you’re just “picking through the weeds?” In my networking with business owners, I meet so many that tell me, “I am just exhausted from running my business.” That’s unfortunate and I know that means they are working “in” their businesses rather than “on” them.

If you feel the fruits of your labor aren’t yielding results, here are a few ways to cultivate success:

  • Sow seeds that are within your area of expertise. I am a virtual accountant, that is my specialty; because of that I don’t go out and solicit business from someone needs their taxes done because we don’t do that.
  • Don’t pluck at a weed and try to cultivate it just to bring in more business. Weeds will take a lot of time and effort from you and will not yield the results you’re seeking.
  • Nurture the winners in your garden. Thank clients for working with you. Reward them with exemplary service, see if they have any needs that are not being met and determine how you can help fulfill those needs.

Being an entrepreneur should be fun! It can be exhausting at times, but more often than not it’s fun!
