Everyone is looking for business. As we evaluate potential business engagements, here are a few questions to ask ourselves:

  • Is this a good fit for the prospect? Does it solve their problem?
  • Is this a good fit for our firm? Are we staying within our core competencies?
  • Can we forge a long-term business relationship?

If all the answers are yes, then go for it! If not, consider that the best choice may be to walk away from the arrangement. There will be other opportunities. Sometimes the only way to win is not to play!
