For many entrepreneurs its go-go-go from the moment they wake up in the morning until the time they fall exhausted into bed at night. Business owners don’t have the luxury of punching a time clock and completely closing the door on business thoughts at the end of the day, but we do have the luxury of shaping our own destinies and having a life of our dreams. You just have to be proactive and claim it!

If you find yourself burning the candle at both ends and you know you need to step away to relieve some stress, here are three tips forstress relief doing that:

  • Take care of yourself physically and mentally. Eating a healthy diet and getting up and moving around during the course of your business day are crucial to your continued well-being. I actually stand when I am taking phone calls and I sit on a fit ball when I’m at my desk. These two activities help me “get physical” during the work day. I also make sure I start my day with a walk, swim, or bike ride and a healthy breakfast with plenty of protein. Self-care is a great way to deal with the stress.
  • Foster a positive attitude. If you pop out of bed in the morning thinking, “This is going to be a fantastic day” chances are it will! Your attitude shapes everything you do and if you feel yourself being weighed down with stress, stop and take a deep breath and focus on something positive.
  • Take a break. If there are days when it all seems too much you may need to step completely away for at least 15 minutes. You’ll be amazed at how it will reduce your stress, clear your mind, and improve your productivity. I find knitting a great stress reliever.
