Take Good Care of You

“How are you?” “Fine.” “You?” As a business owner who attends numerous networking and business meetings I participate in this exchange of pleasantries on a daily basis. I’m sure you do, too.

But, how are you…really? Burnout is a fact of life, especially for business owners who are juggling clients, networking, growing our business, working with our teams, and the list goes on.

Here are the three things I do on a regular basis to take care of me:

  • Take a mental health break. Whether I take a day off, a morning off, a five-minute break for solitude, I give my mind a rest from business thoughts.
  • Take care of my physical health. I get an annual physical, eat well-balanced meals, ride my bike, indulge in massage and work out with a personal trainer. A fit body enhances every other part of my life.
  • I have fun! Whether I am getting together with girlfriends for dinner and a movie, attending my Christian singles group, having lunch with my daughters, going to worship service or taking a vacation and swimming with the dolphins (I just got back from an amazing vacation in Bimini), fun is a must!

Do you take care of you? I hope so! You’re the only one who can!!
