Picture1Routine is a word that sometimes has a negative connotation. Doing something day in and day out can sound dull and boring. But really it can be just the opposite. There is power in a daily routine! What you do every day becomes something you do well. It soon comes naturally and you miss it if you don’t, or can’t, do it.

There are eight areas where I strive to do something daily. They are:

  • Spiritual: Pray, meditate, Bible study, devotions, worship
  • Exercise: Move my body with stretching, yoga, walking, biking, etc.
  • Nourishment: Regular healthy meals and snacks every 3 hours
  • Rest: Eight hours of sleep and at least one 20 minute break
  • Work: Plan for productivity and purpose; accomplish something daily
  • Family: Stay connected to those I love
  • Mental: Read, learn, grow
  • Play: Life is too short not to have fun!

The secret to your future can be found in your daily routine. What you do consistently, day after day, will determine how successful you’ll be. You see, successful people do daily what unsuccessful people only do occasionally.
