Where Are You in the Pack?

“As iron sharpens iron, so people can improve each other.” Proverbs 27:17 (NCV)

They say that you pace yourself according to the people you run beside. If you are back in the pack of slow runners then you are pacing slow. But if you set your stride alongside someone who is pursuing life with passion then you both pick up the pace. Their iron is sharpening your iron.

Sometimes you just have to stop where you are, look around your life and take an inventory of the people who have permission to be there. You didn’t get to choose some of the people in your life but you do get to choose who you allow to speak into your heart, who you take counsel from and who will help you run faster towards your goals.

  1. Wow! This is about the third time this week I’ve heard this principle re-iterated. It must be the lesson I’m supposed to learn. Thanks a bunch.
