Where’s Your Passion?

We all have things we are passionate about. Whether it’s your work, your family, your faith, or a particular food, passion for life is whatPicture1 it’s all about.

In my time as the owner of a virtual accounting firm I’ve found that the individuals I work with who are passionate about what they do are more successful than their non-passionate counterparts. You have seen those entrepreneurs that have lost their spark – I know I have!

If you want to add more passion into your life and your work, here are some tips:

  • Understand what excites you and shout it from the rooftops. I love accounting and I love having a virtual business. I believe that shows in all of my interactions both in face-to-face meetings and virtual. I embrace and announce my passion for my business!
  • When you’re passionate about something you want to learn all you can about it and how to be the best at it. Never stop learning and growing!
  • Set aside time to pursue your passions. If you are a business owner and you’re passionate about your work it may be easy to focus solely on that to the exclusion of outside passions. To be well-rounded you need to have both work and personal passions. Whether you love bike riding, knitting, travel, spending time with friends and family, or (like me) swimming in the open ocean with wild dolphins, make time for those passions.

What are you passionate about? When is the last time you pursued your passion? Plan to make time for your passion now.
