Every entrepreneur wants to be successful, but not all of them are. Some are simply unwilling to do what it takes on a daily basis to achieve success.

Here are the three habits I feel have been most valuable to me in my virtual accounting business:

  1. Set daily priorities. In business, you cannot simply drift along hoping for success. You need to have a plan in place, have that plan writtensuccess down and you need to work it. Your daily priorities will help you see if you’re meeting the goals you’ve set for your business. If you’re working on your top priorities every day, you’re bound to succeed.
  2. Build your business from the ground up with great people. Whether it’s the staff you hire, the attorney you work with, the virtual accountant who oversees your business accounting or the mastermind group with whom you associate, you need to surround yourself with great people.
  3. Communication is the key. Today’s era of text messages and snippets shared via email can lead to miscommunication and misunderstanding. Whether you operate a virtual business like mine or brick and mortar, you truly need to have effective communications with your staff and clients. Every communication, whether on the phone, by email, or in person, should have a well thought out purpose and be clear, concise, and complete.

What habits do you feel entrepreneurs should possess in order to achieve success? I’d love to hear them!
