March is Women’s History Month and it’s a great time to revisit why you’re in business. That should be reflected well in your business’s
vision and mission statements. As entrepreneurs we most likely formulated a mission and vision statement when we first opened our doors – whether virtual, like mine, or a physical location – but when is the last time you’ve looked at them?
Pull out your mission and vision statements and ask these questions:
- Is your vision for your business the same as it was when you first opened your doors? If not, have you updated it?
- Are you meeting the missions you’d set forth for your business? If not, why not? What changes do you need to make? If yes, congratulations!
- What is the purpose of your business? The purpose fits in with your mission and vision but also answers the question, “Why does my business exist?”
- Does everyone who works for you and with you know your mission and vision? If not, spread the word!
- Do your prospective clients know your mission and vision? If not, it’s time to tell them!
- Does your website and/or Facebook page clearly reflect your mission and vision? If not, it’s time to update them!
When is the last time you did a mission and vision review?
