Got Clarity?

Last year I needed new glasses just nine months after I’d just gotten a new prescription filled. I knew that I needed them, because I didn’t have clarity; I simply couldn’t see clearly. Sometimes we won’t have clarity, but we don’t know it. How can that happen? We don’t have accurate information! As most of us are setting goals or intentions or whatever you want to call them for the New Year, it’s important that we know ourbusiness clarity accurate starting point.

Here are a few examples:

  • If you want to increase your business revenue for 2015, you need to know what you really made in 2014
  • If you want to decrease your cost of goods sold or cost of services, you need to know what they are running right now (and why)
  • If you want to increase your client base this year, you need to know how many clients you had at year-end

You know how to do this personally. If you want to lose weight, you get on the scale to see what you weigh now. If you want to lose inches, you get out a tape measure and jot down your measurements.

Use the same discipline in your business. Are your business tracking systems working for you? If not, what steps are you going to take to correct that? When will you take them? There’s no time like now! If it’s broke, get it fixed so that 2015 the great year it could be for your business!
