Where are Our New Customers?

To grow your business you need to find customers who want to buy what you’re selling. Here are tips for marketing and seeking out new clients:

  • There is nothing better than face-to-face networking. People like to do business with someone they “know, like and trust” and the best marketing way to do that is by shaking hands and getting to know someone in person.
  • Word of mouth from satisfied customers is an ideal way to grow your business. If a current customer refers you to a friend or colleague, you need to take advantage of that warm lead.
  • Share your expertise by writing blog posts and sharing them on your website. Writing about your area of expertise shows potential clients that you’re the expert in your niche. Post comments on other respected blogs, too, to reach a wider audience.
  • Keep your website fresh. Adding new material on a regular basis will keep you higher in search engines.
  • Send out newsletters; it’s another great way to share your expertise with your associates. Sending out a newsletter, on a regular basis, keeps you top of mind with clients and potential clients. For example, I send out a weekly Biz-Tip. You can sign up for it here.
  • Pick up the telephone and make some calls. While cold calling may cause a state of “nerves” to kick in, sometimes it’s necessary when you’re sharing who you are with the world. It is one of the most challenging ways to find a new client, but it may be a necessary evil.

Marketing doesn’t have to break the bank, but it is crucial to helping make your business endeavor viable. Consistency is the key! It’s not what you do one time that makes you succeed; it’s what you do day in and day out.

What is your favorite way to find new clients?
